How do you plan the perfect day exploring Okanagan Lake? Book your boat, then set your sights south. This locally curated boat route takes you from Kelowna’s bustling downtown to peaceful bays, resort restaurants, and the fabled home of the Ogopogo. Then, you’ll loop back along the quieter eastern shore to catch the sun’s last rays. Whether by pontoon or speed boat, this is a stunning way to experience the best of the lake in one unforgettable cruise.

1. Launch from Kelowna Downtown Marina

Grab your bowrider, pontoon, or wake boat rental at the Kelowna Downtown Marina. Head south and glide past City Park, waving to beachgoers as you pass under the William R. Bennett Bridge.

Tip: Stop at our store before launching and ensure you’re prepared with snacks, sunscreen and other last-minute essentials.

2. Stop for Lunch at Eldorado Resort

Dock at the Eldorado Resort, a Kelowna classic with public moorage, a lakeside patio, and fuel if needed. It’s the perfect place to pause for a good meal, soak in the sun, and enjoy some people-watching along the boardwalk. We recommend you plan to attend the Sunday Brunch!

3. Cross the Lake to West Kelowna

After lunch, make your way across the lake to West Kelowna. You’ll cruise past luxury shoreline homes, sweeping vineyards, and scenic bays as you head toward your next destination: the adorable town of Peachland.

The Peachland Day Wharf is located beside the Ray Kandola Heritage Pier.

4. Peachland Day Wharf + Local Dining

Pull up to the Peachland Day Use Wharf, a public dock located in the heart of this charming lakeside town. It’s first-come, first-served, so keep your fingers crossed! From there, walk to Gasthaus on the Lake, Peachland Sushi, or explore other local restaurants, cafés, and shops along the waterfront.

5. Visit Rattlesnake Island

Across the lake from Peachland lies Rattlesnake Island—the fabled home of the Ogopogo. Float by and scan the beach, or send scouts to admire the mountaintop ruins of an abandoned theme park.

6. Cruise the East Side Back to Kelowna

End your journey with a tranquil return up the lake’s eastern shoreline. This stretch offers peaceful views, fewer boats, and plenty of time to relax before returning to the marina. Watch out for the dragon-spirit of the lake!

This southern boat route offers the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and iconic Okanagan scenery. With your boat rental ready and the sun shining, all that’s left to do is set sail. Book your ride with Kelowna Downtown Marina and make your lake day legendary.
